The UpStart Center for Entrepreneurship’s sister organization, UpStart Maine, will bring startup businesses from across Maine to its signature Showcase on April 1, 5-7 p.m., at Husson University. The Showcase gives a chance for the startups’ founders to connect with supporters, customers, and community resources – collisions that can open new opportunities for both the businesses and attendees.

At the event, founders will be taking to the stage to pitch their enterprises to you, the live audience, to try to earn your vote as Audience Favorite. These are the kinds of businesses we at the UpStart Center have been serving as incubator tenants for 25 years. We provide affordable space for startups in their early growth and, in partnership with the University of Maine’s Office of Strategic Partnerships and Innovation, the opportunity for one-on-one mentorship.

UpStart Maine was founded in 2016, the result of a partnership among the UpStart Center and other Bangor Region organizations and programs, including University of Maine's Foster Center for Innovation, Big Gig (pitch program), RIZE Co-Working & Collaboration Space, MaineStream Finance, Bangor Innovation Center, and Scratchpad Accelerator.

UpStart Maine’s role is to bring entrepreneurs, innovators and dreamers together to spark ideas, build connections with resources such as these partner programs, and promote the Bangor Region as a center of innovation. The Showcase is one key event in delivering that mission. It’s fun, free, and the place to be on April 1.
