Building Maine's Innovation Community
The UpStart Center for Entrepreneurship serves as a dynamic hub for entrepreneurs, innovators, and growing companies in the greater Bangor region. Strategically located between Bangor’s growing innovation ecosystem and the University of Maine, our tenants have access to coaches, seasoned entrepreneurs and founders, and like-minded businesses on-site and nearby.
Our Mission
We’re dedicated to transforming entrepreneurial vision into market success. Through our combination of affordable office and laboratory spaces and comprehensive incubator services, we provide the infrastructure and expertise that early-stage companies need to build competitive businesses.

The Center was developed in 2002 by the Bangor Target Area Development Corporation in partnership with the University of Maine Foster Center for Innovation, the State of Maine, and the Town of Orono. We are part of the UMaine Business Incubator program and on the Board of Directors for UpStart Maine, Inc., bringing entrepreneurs, innovators, and dreamers together to spark ideas, build connections, and grow thriving businesses.
